Garbage Season!

If snowbirds fly away for the winter, where do exasperated Montrealers flock now that Garbage Season has officially started? Morocco, of course!

Royal Air Maroc certainly makes a strong case for Casablanca in March with this advertisement in a bus shelter outside the airline's offices at Sherbrooke and St-Urbain. Take a seat and only six hours later you'll be free of Montreal in its ugliest phase of the year -- a melting, zombie-ish period in which the detritus from last November rears itself.

Be careful which seat you take though. You might end up at Métro Villa-Maria in half an hour and that's no Morocco.
